Jesus assures us that our heavenly Father will give good things to those who ask Him (Mt.7:11). Our loving God always listens to us. He responds according to His great vision and purpose for our lives. Therefore, it is important to understand that the answer and blessing of God may not be in keeping with our specific requests. Since God already knows what we need even before we ask Him (Mt. 6:8), as a people of faith ours is the task to ask in prayer, and then surrender how God chooses to respond. If we believe that God will only answer our prayers for His glory and our growth, then we need to surrender and trust that what He gives is good. Loving Father, may my prayer find favour with You so that I may trust Your response as being for my growth and Your glory. Amen.
