Lenten Bytes

As powerful as God is, He cannot force us to change. The journey from sin to righteousness is a choice. Jesus chose to die for our sins so that we may live (1 Pet. 2:24). We must now choose whether we want to live by our obedience to Him, or die because of our disobedience. Since love rejoices when there is togetherness, love for God, others and self, impels us to live by His standards.

Our God rejoices when we turn away from evil and inherit the gift of life (Ez. 18:21). Our ongoing conversion leads to the joy of walking with God in this life, and the assurance of spending eternity with Him in the afterlife. The Season of Lent invites us to measure our lives against God's word so that we can make the necessary changes for growth and transformation. Lord Jesus, may Your grace enlighten and strengthen me, so that I may walk in Your path that leads to eternal life. Amen.
