Our Father is glorified when we bear fruit as disciples of His Son, Jesus Christ (Jn. 15:8). However, the ongoing bearing of fruit is achieved through pruning (Jn. 15:2). This act of pruning is neither comfortable nor desirable. It will disturb the mind, shake the heart and challenge the body. If we trust God in these moments, then not only will His grace empower us, but we will also see growth in our spiritual lives, as His Spirit reshapes us according to His purpose. Loving Father, help us to bear fruit that pleases You, strengthen us when we are pruned, and grant us the grace to remain always in Your Son, Jesus our Saviour. Amen.
