Joy that is true and lasting can only be achieved in one specific way. Jesus said in today's gospel that if we keep His commandments as a sign of our steadfast love, then our joy will be complete (Jn. 15:9-11). Disturbance in our hearts and spirits occur when we take our eyes off Jesus, and get lost in our own world of thoughts, worries and choices that are not in accord with His word. Today, reclaim your joy through abiding by God's word. Lord Jesus, may our choosing to respond to Your word which gives joy, be the sign of our love for You and each other. Amen.
