We can justify our emotions, but we cannot allow our thoughts to be manifested into words used to judge or destroy others. God speaks life. God "spoke" life into existence (Gn. 1). Jesus said His words are life (Jn. 6:63). We who follow our Lord are called to be sources of life. In today’s gospel, Jesus warned that there will be those who kill and think they are offering worship to God (Jn. 16:2). There is no reason or justification for believers to deliberately destroy the name and character of another. We are expected to lift the fallen, support the weak, forgive the sinner and walk in love. Are we life-givers? Lord Jesus, may Your Spirit teach us how to be Your source of life and love to all who we encounter. Amen.
