We cannot satisfy or please everyone in our lives. People are varied and have different hopes, expectations and views. What makes one person laugh, can be a source of grief for another. One person may make a big deal with harsh words over an event, but that same experience does not disturb the peace of another. Today we read how Paul's preaching could not satisfy his fellow Jews. One group, the Sadducees, did not believe in angels, spirits or the resurrection. The other group, the Pharisees, believed all three existed (Acts 23:8). So how do we and Paul respond? Seek to please the Lord with a clear conscience and leave all to Him. Lord Jesus, help me to seek first Your kingdom and to please You with my life, as I journey through life with different people. Amen.
