Children often resemble their parents and mirror their traits. Jesus states that we are "children of our Heavenly Father" when our striving for perfection is evidenced by our love for others (Mt. 5:44-48). Our God does not place limits on His love for us. We who cry out, "Abba, Father" are commanded and challenged to imitate God. Ours is the task to show spiritual maturity by loving friend and foe, by being patient with the schooled and the unschooled, by practising compassion for the saint and the sinner. Love and be at peace. Father, may we reveal Your presence to all who we encounter by the real signs of love, mercy and patience we show. Amen.
