Thomas insisted on proof before believing that Christ has risen and appeared to the disciples (Jn. 20:25). Jesus provides three concrete signs that He is present in the community (Jn. 20:26-27): 1. Peace that is present in an individual or group. 2. Hands that are bruised from reaching out in caring for others. 3. An open 'side' that leads to a heart of love for everyone. When believers observe these three criteria, it is then that we will be the 'face' of Christ for others and give evidence of His presence. Lord Jesus, help us to live our lives so as to present Your living presence to others, and have the humility to see You in them. Amen.
