Any good deed or service we offer to our Lord is priceless. This is because the Lord who owns everything does not need anything. Yet our desire to please Him is accepted by Him, and His reward for our free choice is to bless us beyond measure. When Mary of Bethany anointed the feet of Jesus with costly oil, she was duly criticised. But Jesus affirmed her action, and showed that hearts and hands rendered to Him are acceptable (Jn. 12:3-11). This Holy Week, what will we offer to the Lord to please Him? Lord Jesus, may the words of our mouths, the meditations of our hearts, the service of our hands, find favour in Your sight. Amen.
