One key to success in life is knowing how to prioritise. There will always be demands on us and duties to execute. Some can be done by using a schedule of time, while others may be spontaneous. It therefore makes sense to highlight those issues which are in need of more urgent attention, and place them at the top of the list. Jesus posits the truth that the ultimate priority in our lives is to attend to the spiritual state of our souls. In today’s gospel, He reminds us that with all our plans, hard work and recompense, we will eventually die (Lk. 12:20). So amidst all our activities, attention must be given to our spiritual journey. Our number one priority: Please the Lord. Lord Jesus, help us to seek Your kingdom first by making Your word and yielding to the promptings of Your Spirit, the true priorities in our daily lives. Amen.
Blessings,
Fr. Howie
