Our salvation is a gift from God. He gives us His word and promises eternal life to all who obey. They are a joy for those who comply. But despite our good intentions, we know how challenging it is to faithfully live according to His commands. We sometimes fail in our actions to comply with God’s expectations. We know the struggles we have in our minds in truly extending love and forgiveness to all. We know the moments of doubt, fear and anxiety that surface. When Jesus is asked if only a few will be saved, the answer He gives is that we must enter through the narrow door (Lk. 13:23-24). The commandments lead to the door of life. But only Jesus allows us to fully enter into eternal life. His grace purifies us. His blood cleanses us. His merciful love looks beyond our faults and failings. He came, not to condemn us, but to save us (Jn. 3:16). Jesus is the narrow door that opens for our salvation. Will we trust, embrace and follow Him? Lord Jesus, may Your word guide my steps, Your blood cleanse me from sin, and Your grace lead me home. Amen.
Blessings,
Fr. Howie
