In today’s First Reading, John shares his vision of praise and glory rendered to the worthy Lamb, whose blood purchased “people from every tribe and tongue, people and nation” (Rev. 5:9). The blood of Jesus sets us free from slavery to sin and opens the door to heaven. For no other reason, this statement of loving truth should cause us to join the heavenly choir and give praise to God. Our redemption spurs thanksgiving, and our lives are to be dedicated to following Jesus. If we serve Him in this life, we are assured of being with Him in the next. Lord Jesus, we thank You for saving us by Your precious blood. May we show our gratitude by living as Your people in whom You are well pleased. Amen.
Blessings,
Fr. Howie
