However little we give to the Lord, He not only blesses it, but He also turns it into an abundance, and returns it for the benefit of all. In the gospel today, Jesus takes the ‘small’ amount of seven loaves and a few fish, and after giving thanks, He returns it to the crowd who ate their fill (Mt. 15:36-37). No act of sacrifice is ever too minute that the Lord will not accept, bless and return for the advantage of all. Consider the following: 1. Find the time and make our small moments of prayer meaningful. 2. Examine our hearts to see how we can offer a little more kindness. 3. Deliberately choose to go the extra mile of extending forgiveness. 4. Take the vital step to be a little better today than I was yesterday. Lord Jesus, help me to be as generous to You as You are with me. May I never cease to make every moment and act of my life be truly for Your glory, and the praise of Your name. Amen.
Blessings,
Fr. Howie
