“The one who stands firm to the end will be saved” (Mt. 10:22). Jesus is the fulfilment of the prophesies of the Old Testament. Mary and Joseph who trusted in God’s promises and stood firm in their faith, were rewarded. Their eyes now behold the glory of the Lord as they ponder the Child Jesus in their arms. Those who choose to stand on the promises of God will never lose heart, will not be dismayed by persecutions or pain, but will be led to eternal life. The martyr Stephen trusted in God, and he saw heaven. Lord Jesus, as we continue to celebrate Your coming as man, may our strength be grounded in the hope we have in You, while we stand on Your beautiful promises. Amen.
