Jesus says to each of us as He said to Levi, “Follow me” (Lk. 5:27). The excitement to be in His presence can be quickly and painfully replaced by the reality that we are not worthy. How can I walk with the Lord with all my shortcomings and failures? I not only know myself, but others also know me. How can I possibly walk in His company? Jesus gives us the answer, “I did not come to call the righteous to repentance, but sinners” (Lk. 5:32). It is because Jesus sees and loves us why He calls us to follow Him. By trusting in His choice for each of us, the journey with Jesus during Lent, will involve introspection, confession, reconciliation and salvation. Let us walk in love with God. Lord Jesus, help me to follow You as You desire, so that as I walk away from sin and journey closer with You, I will be lead into Paradise. Amen
Blessings,
Fr. Howie
