Every couple who chooses to love and grow in a relationship, will see and experience the strengths and weaknesses of the other. The good and bad in the other will become evident. But the test of true love is the willingness to love the other through thick and thin. To love is to support, encourage, forgive and bring out the best in the other. God shows the evidence of His undying love by allowing the sun to shine and the rain to fall on the good and bad (Mt. 5:43-48). Indeed, it is while we are at our weakest that God proves His love when He sent His Son to die so we may live (Rm. 5:8). This is the love we are called to imitate. True love ultimately seeks the good, growth and life of all. Lord Jesus, thank you for loving us, and for choosing to die for our sins so that we may live. Help us to love You with all our heart, and to imitate Your love for others as You desire. Amen.
Blessings,
Fr. Howie
