"I will lay down my life for you" (Jn. 13:37). Peter made this bold statement but later denied Jesus three times. Jesus said the good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep, and then went to the cross for us.
We need to recognise that with the best of intentions, we can impulsively say things but fail to act. Our being impulsive must be matched with being reflective. God knows our heart. If we truly desire life for others with our words, His grace will help us to be sources of life.
Lord Jesus, as You laid down Your life for me, may my words and actions impart Your life to all. Amen.
Blessings,
Fr. Howie
