God who creates us in love, knows us before we are born ( Jer. 1:5). Each one of us is a unique personality and is therefore different from God and each other. As individuals, we each have our own strengths and weaknesses, known fully by our God. This means that what one person struggles with in one’s life, another individual may find no difficulty in facing the same challenge. This is why it is so important not to judge (Mt. 7:1). God who is present to everyone, is fully aware of the conquests and challenges that each person experiences. Every believer is empowered to speak good news and do good works. But not everyone is either at the same stage of faith or psychological maturity. Given the fact that we are all human beings of the same nature (Acts 14:15), let us pray to be more compassionate, supportive and patient with each other in life’s journey. Since one person’s strength may be another person’s weakness, ours is the task to choose to be complementary, not competitive, with each other. Paul recognised that the people at Lystra had not yet turned away from idols (Acts 14:11). His encounter with the risen Christ had moved him from being persecutor to a proclaimer. Like Paul, may we use the identified differences in others to be opportunities to grow in love and genuine faith. Lord Jesus, You created each of us as unique individuals so that we can come to a deeper knowledge that we are different parts of one body. May Your Spirit fill our hearts today, so that we may offer support and strength to everyone in our lives. Amen.
