The nature of love is to be attentive. Parents of a new born child will rush to the crib when the child cries, or simply stares in silent adoration as they watch the child sleep. Married couples are sometimes able to complete each other’s sentences, or anticipate the needs of each other so as to satisfy them. Friends may be so comfortable when they gather, that they ‘tease’ one another by imitating the words and actions of each other. The nature of our God is love, and therefore He cannot help but be attentive. Our Creator has carved us on the palm of His hand (Is. 49:16). We are fearfully and wonderfully made (Ps. 139:14). Every hair on our head has been counted by God (Mt. 10:30). He knows all our needs before we ask Him (Mt. 6:8). If we take time to understand who God is, we will joyfully pay more attention to Him and allow Him to guide our daily lives. Loving Father, You created us in love and are faithfully attentive to the satisfaction of all our needs. May we show our gratitude by being attentive to Your word and seek Your will in our lives. Amen.
Blessings,
Fr. Howie
