How can we be effective Disciples? It starts with the fact that it is the Lord who chose us, and not we who choose ourselves (Jn. 15:16). He knows what He wants, sees something in each of us that He likes, and gives us power to do His work (Mt. 10:1). Discipleship is a life-long vocation to listen to the Lord. Our task is to promote the kingdom of God and not the empire of ourselves. When we understand our role to be promoters of the good news of Jesus, it is then that our lives take on real meaning. Lord Jesus, You call, teach and send us to tell others Your good news. May our lives be a pleasant offering of sweet service that uplifts You and all in our lives. Amen.
