A solid rock can be difficult to crack. Yet over time, droplets of water falling steadily on the rock will not only create a crack, but also will split the rock open. Drip by drip, drop by drop, what at first seems like an unimportant action, an insignificant occurrence, turns out to be highly effective in achieving the goal of change. Jesus highlights this truth when He speaks of a tiny mustard seed that grows into a large bush, or yeast that leavens the dough (Mt. 13:31-35). Both the seed and yeast appear to be no threat, but when applied, become highly effective. Never underestimate the power and value of every small act of kindness and love. Lord Jesus, You are the seed that bursts into the tree of life, and the yeast that elevates the dough of humanity to Yourself. May our small acts of goodness and love lead to changing hearts to You, and the advancement of Your glory and kingdom. Amen.
Blessings,
Fr. Howie
