Daily Byte

In varying degrees, every individual is a mixture of saint and sinner. When a person yields to God’s grace and chooses to love, forgive, exercise care for all and walk in His ways, a road to sainthood is opened. But when one allows the ego to become dominant, and justifies hate, retaliation, rejection and rebelling against God, then the path of the sinner is taken. Jesus, who became one like us in all things but sin, knows our potential. He who created us in love desires to spend eternity with us. Since we struggle at times to be wheat or choose to be weed, Jesus gives us time to change, to strive for sainthood and walk away from sin. Let us live so that the angels may gather us into God’s eternal kingdom (Mt. 13:36-43). Lord Jesus, be patient with us. Help us to change and become the wheat that You wish to gather. May our gratitude be evidenced by the mercy and encouragement we show to others. Amen.

Blessings,

Fr. Howie
