Jesus asks the valid question, “What profit would there be for one to gain the whole world and forfeit his life?” (Mt. 16:26). In order to meet the demands of life, we need: plans and proper actions; formation in our chosen field to be effective in the workforce; and a valid approach to budgeting our time, talent and treasure. These can assist us in achieving our goals. But they can also leave us feeling drained and empty. How then can we fulfil our responsibilities and not run the risk of losing our lives? One way is to seek the Lord’s guidance in all our activities. Since He is the source of all that is good, when we choose to include Him in our plans, not only are we validating and strengthening our relationship with Him, but also we are safeguarding our sanity and souls as we allow His grace to lead, bless and sanctify our work for His glory. Lord Jesus, guide us in our daily lives. May we choose to seek You in every moment, glorify You in our endeavours, and honour You with work that is pleasing in Your sight. Amen.
Blessings,
Fr. Howie
