We are all invited to the eternal wedding feast in heaven. This feast is mirrored in the finite Eucharistic celebrations on earth. But, just like the people in today’s parable (Mt. 22:1-14), our refusal, indifference and even resistance to this open invitation, all combine to put our salvation at risk. Do we find more excuses, distractions and satanic reasons to be absent from the celebration of Mass? Our present choices will impact our future destiny. Lord Jesus, You have promised to secure a place and banquet for us in Your Father’s house. May we habitually respond to the invitation to feast on Your Word, Body and Blood in this life, so that we can joyfully anticipate the timeless celebration that is to come. Amen.
