Our eternal salvation is based on God’s love for us, and how we show love to Him and all. Jesus declares that the greatest commandment is to love God with our entire being, and love our neighbour as we love ourselves (Mt. 22:34-40). This love is neither manipulative nor controlling. Instead, it is a love that brings life and joy to the other (Ez. 37:1-14). It genuinely seeks the good of the other without counting the cost. In the court of God, am I guilty of not loving as I should? Lord Jesus, Your love is a “burning fire in our soul”. Teach us how to love You and others, not because we are commanded to do it, but based on a genuine desire to be sincerely connected with each other for all eternity. Amen.
Blessings,
Fr. Howie
