Daily Byte

Who among us is worthy to enter into the presence of the Lord or call upon His name? We echo the Centurion’s confession, “Lord, I am not worthy that You should enter under my roof” (Lk. 7:1-10) at Mass, or become conscious of our unworthiness when we enter into prayer. Hopefully we pay attention to what we say with our lips, minds and our hearts.

The real beauty of this reality is that although none of us is worthy, it is the Lord’s love and mercy towards us that makes us worthy. We can draw close to God because it is He who opens the door. We can call on His name because it is He who touches our lips. Our roof and house have become temples of His Spirit. Today, rejoice and give thanks to Him.

Come Lord Jesus, touch and heal me. May Your Spirit continue to purify and strengthen me, so that my unworthy body may become a living temple of praise. Amen.

Blessings,

Fr. Howie
