Today we recognize the liturgical Feast of the Archangels: Michael, Raphael and Gabriel. Our loving God who created all that exists, has given us Angels to guard and protect us in our journey of life. Archangels have specific tasks — Michael battles the devil; Raphael is the one who brings healing and Gabriel imparts the good news. All work for God’s glory.
Jesus, who affirmed His divine insight when He declared He saw Nathanael under the fig tree, declares the existence of Angels (Jn. 1:47-51). Anything we know about God and His Angels is through divine revelation. What is revealed is that our God is working tirelessly to save us through His blood, grace and Angels. Today, bless the Lord and give Him thanks.
Lord Jesus, surround us with Your Angels and keep us safe at all times. May the presence of Your Angels give us confidence to walk without fear and to praise You all our days. Amen
Blessings,
Fr. Howie
