An example of how the ‘ancient’ scripture applies to every generation is evident in today’s readings. “We must consider how to rouse one another to love and good works. We should not stay away from our assembly,” (Heb. 10:25). Love and good works are never ‘out of style or fashion’. However, in this current pandemic, too many of God’s people choose to be absent from Church while being present everywhere else. How does this impact our faith or even inspire hope? If what we measure is given back to us in greater amount (Mk. 4:24), then do we generously give ourselves to God and good deeds?
Lord Jesus, help us to love as we are commanded, to give ourselves to good works which benefit others, and truly live as sources of inspiration for all in our lives. Amen.
Blessings,
Fr. Howie
