Our hearts are capable of loving with passion or hating with destruction. When we love with all our heart, our desire is to seek the good of the other and make the other happy. But if we allow anger, hate and jealousy to overtake our heart, then we not only seek to hurt others, but we also self-destruct. The key to confronting that which defiles us (Mk. 7:20-23) is to love our God, self and others with all our heart. Love conquers all and leads to life.
Father in heaven, You love us more than we will ever comprehend. May our love for You be evidenced in the ways we seek to please You, as we also enhance the good of all. Amen.
Blessings,
Fr. Howie
