Do we remain in the chains of our past, or do we celebrate the freedom we have in the Lord in the present? Although Peter denied the Lord in the past, He is released from any mental or physical prison (Acts 12:1-11) and made leader of the Church (Mt. 16:13-19).
Paul was the great persecutor of Jesus’ Disciples. He too was rescued from many dangers and evil threats (2 Tim. 4:6-8, 17-18) and became an exceptional proclaimer of the gospel. Today, let go of the past, and let the Lord of the present lead us into a bright future.
Loving Jesus, You are the Lord of all time. Heal our past, strengthen us in the present, and lead us into the glorious future You have already prepared for those who trust in You. Amen.
Blessings,
Fr. Howie
