Today we commemorate All Souls. To share memories experienced of our loved ones who have died is to keep them ‘alive’. To pray for our dearly departed is an exercise of healing of our minds and hearts. To commend the dead to the Lord who has promised eternal life for those who believe (Jn. 6:37-40), is to gain strength to carry on our own journey and have hope that we will all be re-united one day. May All Souls rest in peace with our God.
Loving Lord, You are the source of our resurrection and life. We surrender our families and friends into Your life-giving arms. May they enjoy Your perpetual presence in heaven, even as we on earth live with the hope of being united with them and You forever. Amen.
