We should never allow anyone or anything to separate us from the love of our God. People will be people and things will happen, sometimes for good and other times for ill. Yet in all that we experience, everything should only serve to drive us closer to God.
We see in today’s gospel (Lk. 18:35-43), how the people tried to keep the blind man from getting the attention of the Lord. But he knew his hope was with Jesus and not with the people. So he ignored them, called out to the Lord, and was miraculously cured.
Today, whoever and whatever we encounter, let it only serve to send us into the arms of our powerful God.
Loving Lord, to You we come in prayer. We ask You to have mercy on us and heal the error of our ways that leads us into the darkness of sin. May the restored sight that You impart allow us to walk closer with You and enjoy the beauty of Your loving presence. Amen.
Blessings,
Fr. Howie
