The purpose of inspiration is to provide motivation. If we are not motivated, we become despondent. If we are not inspired, we become lethargic. The lack of both keeps us in the darkness of pessimism and bitterness. We become a people who live in a tomb.
But the light of Christ conquers the darkness. His transfiguration (Mk. 9:2-10) inspires and motivates the Disciples to learn to listen, respond to His word and live in the power of His resurrection. Today, gaze on the glory of the Lord and let Him lead where He wills.
Luminous Lord, the light of Your love radiates Your mercy and goodness to all who look to You. May the joy we have in You serve to affect and ‘infect’ all to follow You. Amen.
Blessings,
Fr. Howie
