Which one of us does not need God’s mercy and forgiveness? Recognising our failings and sins should not only keep us from judging others, but also prompt us to be humble before our God, who has the power to heal and restore us.

If we are conscious of the above, are we just as conscious of the words, “Forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us”? When we learn to not only say these words but also act on them (Mt. 18:21-35), it is then that we please the Lord.

Lord Jesus, save us from our sins and punishment. We are weak, but You are merciful and full of love. As we are forgiven, may we reveal Your love by forgiving all in our lives. Amen.

Blessings,

Fr. Howie
