We are all called to be “fishers of men” (Mk. 1:14-20). However, we are given individual and specific tasks to perform that are unique to our contexts, relationships and personality. Our unique task from the Lord can only be discerned in and through prayer.
The Lord speaks, but we have to deliberately pause our activities; calm our anxious hearts and focus with our minds, so that we can hear His voice. He has good things to tell us and wants to give us purpose-driven lives. Listen to Him and let Him guide us.
Lord Jesus, help us to be attentive to Your beautiful voice and uplifting words. As we embrace Your gift of prayer, may our focussed time together bear individual and communal fruits for the glory of Your name. Amen.
