The virtue of common sense is to be espoused. We do not “fast when the bridegroom is present”, nor “pour new wine into old wineskins” (Mk. 2:18-22). We do not drive with our eyes shut, nor run on the busy road. We do not ingest poison, nor feed on a diet of fake news. So if our Lord promises peace and eternal life to those who walk in His ways, then common sense says, “Do it.”
Lord Jesus, Your grace builds on our nature. Help us to exercise our God-given common sense to live our lives in such a manner, that leads to our benefit and Your eternal glory. Amen.
Blessings,
Fr. Howie
