I lost another family member to the novel coronavirus yesterday. He was a dear Uncle who was close to Mom, Dad and me. Uncle was the third family member who died within the past two weeks, and the fifth to have died from COVID-19 in the past year. The number of worldwide deaths from this ongoing pandemic has been heart breaking.
Whether we have personally lost family and friends from COVID-19, or from other causes, we are united in our grief and pain. To whom do we look for hope and healing? Our Lord who rose from the dead has promised eternal life to all who follow Him (Jn. 10:28). Jesus is our hope and our joy. May all who have died now live eternally with our Lord in heaven.
Lord Jesus, You created all life and have promised to grant eternal life to all who follow You. May we choose to walk with You in this life, and be rewarded with reigning forever with You and all our loved ones in the life that is to come. Amen.
Blessings,
Fr. Howie
