Easter Bytes

The maxim, ‘In unity there is strength’ is useful for today’s reflection. The workforce that pulls together to achieve the organisation’s goals makes the company successful. The society that cares for, and caters to, the marginalised and weak addresses some of the root cause of violence and murder. Numbers allow for greater comfort and assurance.

We are not created to be individuals, but to journey as a ‘family of God’. The practical and sensible approach in addressing the challenges of daily life by bonding together, is also useful for our spiritual lives. As branches bound together on Jesus our vine (Jn. 15:1-8), we are empowered to be strong for each other through the strength given by our Lord.

Eternal Vine, we are ephemeral branches. But by remaining in You, we are given the gifts of Your grace and each other to face the changes and issues in life. May our union in You lead us to bear fruit that lasts, and be assured of Your promise of everlasting life. Amen.

Blessings,

Fr. Howie
