Jesus said, “It was not you who chose me, it was I who chose you” (Jn. 15:16). Such a truly comforting statement from the Lord. Each of us is personally selected and given specific tasks to bear fruits in the contexts of our lives.
The implications for discipleship are now brought into perspective. Every believer is graced, appointed and empowered to be an effective witness. Our moments of celebration and, of course, our challenges are ordained for His glory.
Lord Jesus, You first loved and chose us, so that we can respond by continuously loving and choosing You. May the good fruits of our lives reveal the sweetness of our love. Amen.
Blessings,
Fr. Howie
