Love unites and desires the company of the other. However, the reality of being limited humans means we can only be in one place at one time. When we are physically present with one person, we can only be with others in ‘spirit’.
When we feel a sense of helplessness in not bi-locating, especially in times of crisis, the words of Jesus, “But I am not alone, because the Father is with me” (Jn. 16:32) gives us comfort. God’s presence more than satisfies our absence.
Loving Saviour, as the Father is present with You, so You are present with us through Your Spirit. May we always take comfort and joy knowing that You are with us always. Amen.
Blessings,
Fr. Howie
