When we choose to pay attention to the Lord revealing Himself in our daily activities, good and bountiful things happen. John begins today’s gospel pericope with the words, “Jesus revealed Himself” (Jn. 21:1). Then we hear of the huge catch of fish (Jn. 21:2-14).
Blessings will always be given by the Lord. But like the Disciples, we have to consciously pay attention to His presence and respond to His words. The distractions of our thoughts, voices of others and our busy lives have to be stilled. See and listen to the Lord.
Risen Lord, You are always by our side, and desire to shower Your grace and blessings upon us. Help us to be attentive to Your presence as we ‘fish’ for Your kingdom. Amen.
Blessings,
Fr. Howie
