As a people of the resurrection, we are all given the responsibility by the Lord to “proclaim the Gospel to every creature” (Mk. 16:9-15). This means that when we speak, our choice of words should reflect the uplifting power and gracious presence of the Lord in our lives.
We can only do this when we remove our doubt and the noise of the world, and listen to the living Lord who speaks with us, just as He spoke to the Disciples. If we do not listen to Him, our words will fail to be the empowering and life-giving good news that the Lord desires.
Living Lord, when You speak, our hearts burn within us. May our attentive listening to Your word help us to more effective in being Your agents of good news in this world. Amen.
