Salvation is a gift from God. But effort on our part is required to achieve it. The ultimate sacrifice of Jesus on the cross satisfies the requirement of our sin. However, we have to “lift up the Son of Man” (Jn. 8:28) in praise and prayer, and walk in the ways of “I AM”. As He purposely came into our lives to save us from death, so we must actively seek His presence to gain eternal life. Let our gratitude to the Lord be evident by the witness of our lives.
Lord Jesus, when You were lifted high on the cross, the barrier between earth and heaven was broken. As the gates of Your kingdom now beckon, help us to lift up our lives to You, so that with love in our hearts, we may enter into the beauty of Your kingdom. Amen.
Blessings,
Fr. Howie
